Our Story
It’s time for something new! The concept of The Next Loop originated as a dream of creating something that builds on “Vogue Knitting” magazine legacy, something fresh and exciting for a wide audience of makers and fiber enthusiasts. The Next Loop is a new digital way of sharing the same kind of high-quality, fashion-forward content “Vogue Knitting” readers expect, while looking ahead to what’s next in the realm of handmade style.
The Next Loop subscription community elevates that content to the next level with in-depth newsletters, original patterns, video tutorials, designer interviews, and much more. Engaging articles keep members in the loop on the latest in yarn-related news, styles and trends, as well as archival patterns and articles from past issues that that are still relevant today. Knowing our savvy audience is looking for original patterns from top designers as well as up-and-coming talent, we created an inaugural collection of 14 exclusive knit and crochet designs – and hired the incomparable Jared Flood to photograph them.
We chose the name The Next Loop to indicate forward momentum, something that is always looking to the next trend or style in the world of handmade fashion. Think of the “next loop” as the next stitch that always awaits you on your knitting needle or crochet hook -- every time you’re engaging with your craft, you’re working on the next loop. We promise to keep you in the loop on what’s happening in the world of knitting and crochet!

In addition to his editorial work on The Next Loop, Seth Richardson (he/him/his) is a knitwear designer based in Portland, Oregon who enjoys creating pieces that use simple texture and works that explore the various relationships of straight lines.
